Universal Studios Hollywood— What’s New In Hollywood?

Universal Studios Hollywood: 2 New Rides for You to Enjoy

Universal Studios Hollywood is continuously improving and innovating itself, in order to provide you and me with the best theme park experience possible. Recently, the park opened two new rides: (1) The Simpsons Ride, and (2) Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride.

Both were created due to the immense popularity of their respective television and movie franchises, and both cater to especially children and young teens. No heart gripping corkscrews, drops, and loops here— just winding, bumping, fun amidst the most advanced visual effects that only Hollywood can produce.

It should be safe to assume the both rides are good. However, it would be more interesting to find out which one is better.

Universal Studios Hollywood: The Simpsons versus The Mummy

Let’s begin with The Simpsons Ride. There is a much longer waiting line to get on this ride because the cartoon franchise has been really famous for years now. Plus, they just released a movie version of the show to top it all off.

Once you get on the ride, you will notice that it can only fit a few people at a time. Perhaps around 10 people riding in the same room. Then you sit on a roller coaster looking thing that actually remains locked in place throughout the ride. You sit facing a screen that shows you a 3D cartoon clip, giving you the illusion that you’re actually moving when you’re not.

It’s extremely fun although a bit short. All in all, it’s fun for the whole family to enjoy.

On the other hand Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride is faster paced and more exciting. What many people don’t know about this roller coaster is that it actually operates on the magnetic levitation technology used in modern commuter trains. Yes, you are actually floating on the tracks.

Instead of looking at one screen, various images of scary mummies, scarabs, and related stuff are projected or illuminated for as you race through the darkness. This ride is easily comparable to Disneyland’s Space Mountain, only Universal’s version is more technologically advanced and is not suitable for small children, especially during the part where scarabs crawl through your feet.

Like, the previous ride, this is short but fun. Shorter waiting lines may be due to the scariness of this ride, and the movie franchise being less popular than The Simpsons. Which ride is better? Both have their own pros and cons. My suggestion is ride both. It would be a waste of time to try one and not the other.

With two new rides for you to enjoy, you should definitely visit Universal Studios Hollywood this summer. And, don’t forget to avail of your Universal Studios Hollywood coupons to avail of extra discounts.
